software install agent

software install agent

I have a Visualize C160 running HP-UX 11.0. I purchased the machine from an online auctions. I also have the September 200 Applications CD's that I purchased the same way. I recently received an eval license fro Omniback II which is on cd # 2. I went into swinstall agent to add the codeword. I entered the customer id I received from typing uname -i and the password I received from the password deliviery team. I keep getting an error message stating that either the customer id or password do not match this cd. There are no existing customer id's or passwords on the disk. Can anyone help me please? If anyone has a license for Omniback II version 3 or higher can you tell me if it is an ifor license or an OVKey3 license? I have an OVKey3 license. Someone at HP told me I needed a IFOR license but the password delivery people told me I was wrong.

Re: software install agent

Hi Joel,

don't know if I have the magic answer for you, but I would highly recommend to "bug" the codeword folks at HP one more time and explain to them how you got this box and have them doublecheck the password and licences.

If you don't get any further try to call 1-800-386-1116 ... they had once some info for me on boxes bought in auctions. They might have an idea. (The number is for customers without valid HP contract)

Hope that helps a bit,

The customer id should have been sent along from HP on the same piece of paper, or e-mail, that had the codeword on it. I don't think the customer id is what you get when you do a uname -i, although I could be wrong.
