Software Packager

Hello forum,

I downloaded Software Pakage Builder, to try it, but the installation fails because it can't resolve dependency for Software Packager. To be honest, I failed to find it at http://software.hp.com, if someone can give me the link...

Thanx.

Re: Software Packager

Alex,
according to data at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/SPB/index.html

Requirements:
SPB 2.0 requires Java 1.4.0 or greater.
Supported Operating Systems
-------------------------
The following Operating Systems are supported by SPB:
o HP-UX 11i v1 (B.11.11)
o HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23)

Are you sure you are not looking for the Software Distributor at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/SD/

That's the message:

You must resolve the above dependencies before operating on
this fileset or change the "enforce_dependencies" option to

Re: Software Packager

Alex,
have you got the Java requisites installed?
Without the Java the LIB will not install, hence the SwPackager will fail!
swinstall log gives a great lot of help on this.

Re: Software Packager

Yep, you're right, the problem must be in Java, that's why packager cannot be installed and builder cannot be installed without packager.
