Software Update Manager

I used to get HP-UX software updates in the form of the Support Plus CD. Now I have to request them via the web.

While on the page that displays the products allowable under my contract, I see that for example the HP-UX 10.20 General Release Bundle is shown but there is no checkbox, only a download link.

Does this mean that I can no longer get this on CD?

I don't agree with u. I have got Sept 2001 Support Plus CD couple of weeks back.

Could it be that you now only get CD's on request. Our company has changed our contract so we only get the CD's if we ask for them.

Hi Fred:

Looking at one of my 10.20 servers, I see the download link, but I also see a "Select All 10.20 Products (Physical Delivery Only)" check box *above* that. If you check this, and click the "request selected products" button at the bottem of the page, I think you will find your physical delivery information.

HP helped me find my error, after clicking on 'updates on contract' I was clicking on 'individual products' when I should have been using 'releases' ... so I was able to request delivery of the CD for the latest GR bundle.

It does not appear that I can get these releases automatically, though, but I can select to be notified when there is a release that I can request.

Is this the way it operates for all of you on contract?

Yes James that's it exactly. Do you know if I can have these general releases sent automatically like the old days, or is that no longer an option?

Hi Fred:

I seem to recall that the "push" was changed to a "pull" sometime ago. I actually prefer to receive the CDROM only when I request it, and then only one copy, not multiple ones for multiple servers.

Since updates appear quarterly, you know when to "look" anyway.
