Hi Guys

I have a Service Guard Cluster, in order to make a symetric cluster, I changed the mapping device with IOINIT file on one node. But when I ran the "insf -e" command on this node I lost the mapping of the device. This weekend I lost a node from my cluster because this situation with "insf -e" command.

Is there any way to avoid this situation?....I heard about udev, but I can't find any documentation for this product.

udev is a linux feature - nothing to do with HP-UX.

You must have doen something wrong when you reconfigured you devices with ioinit, as an insf -e wouldn't re-create the old devices...

provide more details...

- precisely what did you do when you set this up
- what did it look like before you ran insf -e
- what did it look like after you ran insf -e ?

Are we talking about disk devices here, or something else?

Thanks a lot for your response, I found that someone run rmsf, after that all change made with ioinit was loose. However I found some tips about this on other Post, that you response.
