ssh and btmp

Hi,

The unsuccessful login entry from ssh cannot be found in the btmp, any idea?

Hi Warren,

Which version of Secure shell you are running ? I remember, there was a bug related to /var/adm/btmp in Secure shell.

Hi Arun,

the version is 03.10 and it seems that btmp is not support on that version.

I found the release notes for V.03.72 and which said that log unsuccessful login to btmp is new feature.

Hi Warren,

Yes, that correct. I stopped working on Secure shell two years ago. So, i couldn't tell you the exact version. You can upgrade to latest available version from,

Its a known bug, otherwise known as a feature.

The but is resolved by the current verion of ssh that Arun linked in for you.
