Re: SSH

NOTE: "The HP-UX Secure Shell daemon (sshd) is pre-configured and starts after installation."

You don't have to "ssd start".

Get the right 11.0 and not the 11.i version? What about patch PHCO_25527? Support Plus 5012-0049?

Right click on the ftp link and 'save target as'

Did you ftp the download to your PC? And then binary ftp from PC to HP-UX server from PC DOS prompt?

From PC:
ftp HP server
login
password
bin
cd /tmp
put T1471AA
quit

verify proper download:

$ swlist -d /tmp/T1471AA.depot

Re: SSH

I had this problem on fresh install. Once I updated the patches it went away.

Re: SSH

Attaching a doc that will help you with some basic startup tasks.

Exchanging public keys, etc..

Re: SSH

thank you so much all of you. I just updated the patch PHCO_25527, and I reinstalled the ssh again. It seems ok of the installation, but when I check the log file that if says the execution(sshd start) denied, but I was the root user. Please help again... thanks

Re: SSH

Is that because it is already started?

Re: SSH

No, I didn't find it when I ran the "ps -ef | grep sshd" command.

Thanks,

Re: SSH

Are you installing the 3.50 version of T1471AA for 11.0 on a PA-RISC 1 system? I had problems with this - there did not appear to be a PA-RISC 1 compatible binary in the depot, only PA-RISC 2. Am I missing something?

Re: SSH

I agree that the file packaged in the PA_RISC1 directory with the 3.5 version of sshd does not seems to be the good one.
Is that a problem with the delivery ?
Did they test the 3.5 binaries on a PA_RISC1 platform ?

Re: SSH

I have encountered your problem.

The depot on software.hp.com is wrong. Contact HP support and they will set up an ftp site with the correct depot.

I have a copy of the depot but am unsure as to whether I should distribute HP depot packages.

Re: SSH

HP has verified the problem I point out in my previous post.

This shows the value of a software contract, no matter how good these forums are. It means you need to contact HP and get the right depot.

Good Luck.
