sshd getting killed automatically!!
Hi,
I want to implement ssh on my L class servers. In one of my servers,I'm observing that the daemon "sshd" is getting killed intermittently.Sometimes it runs for 2-3 days and then get killed. Syslog shows only time it starts sshd. No other messages related to sshd in syslog.log. How can I track the reason why the process got killed and resolve this issue?
Thanks & Best Regards,
Abdul Salam

Re: sshd getting killed automatically!!
Reasons may galore,
1.Try running the server in background
2.Possibly someone who has privileged access other than you may killed SSHD. Try setting "permitrootlogin no" in sshd_config
3.Use top command to see if there are any large or long processes already running which may disturb sshd.
4. If you use older version of ssh try latest SSH ( HP Secure Shell "A.03.81" )
