on a two-node cluster, if someone disconnects the standby cards like pulling out the cables that wouldnt cause anything on the cluster such as the package migrating and such right?

Re: standby interfases

Shalom,

if each node has a standby interface, pulling the cable on the primary interface should do one of the following actions:

1) Trigger NIC failover.
2) TOC crash the cluster due to lack of heartbeat. This will not happen if you have two hearbeats.
3) Package failure should only happen in the event of item 2.

Note that your standby LAN can not be a heartbeat network, because its not active.

You should run tests.

Re: standby interfases

You missunderstood, I am going to UNPLUG the standby interfases not the primary ones.

Re: standby interfases

Shalom,

Unplugging the standby interface should do ntohing other than create syslog entries.
