stape driver missing

Hi HP experts,

As I know stape driver should be native to any HPUX version. I have 3 rp4440 servers running HP-UX 11i and strange I don't know why 1 of the servers doesn't have the stape driver. I used the same installation CD for all of them and I didn't get any errors during the installation.

I tried to check the driver using SAM/Kernel but can't locate it. How can I install this stape driver? Any patch I can install? We need to IGNITE the servers urgently before we connect them to production network. Please advice. Thanks.

Re: stape driver missing

Hi,
can you see the stape in /stand/system ?
Did you try to set the driver in SAM to in and rebuild?

Latest cummulative patch for 11.11 seems to be PHKL_34552.

Re: stape driver missing

Hi Peter,

stape is not nowhere to be found in /stand/system and so I cannot set it In into the kernel.

Thanks, I will try to install PHKL_34552.

Re: stape driver missing

i would add stape and tape2 to /stand/system and then rebuild the kernel.

your /stand/system should have these.
#grep tape /stand/system
stape
tape2
#

Once you have the entries made to system, then rebuild the kernel.
There is always something new to learn everyday !!
