Name Server: bdcviatel02.viatel.com

Name: unix1.viatel.com
Address: 192.168.3.22

> 192.168.3.22
Name Server: bdcviatel02.viatel.com

Re: Still got a DNS problem

this a configuration error in dns server (reverse resolution is not set properly)

you can solve it resolving first by /etc/hosts and then dns

add the entry to the /etc/hosts file
192.168.3.95 bdcviatel02.viatel.com bdcviatel02

edit the /etc/nsswitch.conf
hosts= files [NOTFOUND=continue] dns

Re: Still got a DNS problem

HI,
above is one way.

please find another way of configuring the DNS itself for the reverse lookup in the attached document.

hope this helps!
