Streams/UX errors from console

Hi all,

I faced some problem with my HPUX 11i A400 machine. Seen multiple Stream/UX errors from console pointing to "639 tcp_timer:strange state (-6)" when OS starts its service at network tracing and logging level.

Other problem faced when I am able to login to the machine.

1) ioscan shows 2 lancard "Claimed" with lan0 and lan1, but lanscan sometimes shows either lan0 and lan1 or lan1 and lan100.
2) Did ifconfig on either interfaces and "no interface" seen.
3) Check /etc/rc.config.d/netconf and seen that the configurations are set correctly.
4) From SAM, both lancards shows "Not configured". Not able configure.
5) From netstat -rn, only shows local loopback address.

I am able to perform the workaround by setting IP address on lan100 to ping to other machines. But when I rebooted the machine again, the same Streams/UX errors occurred.

Need help.

Thanks in advance.

Regrds,

Re: Streams/UX errors from console

I would suggest to check the cumulative ARPA Transport patch level.

Re: Streams/UX errors from console

Hi all,

This problem occurs after I recovers the machine using make_recovery from tape. I did set the IP address for the machine during the interactive ignite recovery. But somehow, the interface did not take the IP into account.

Other than that, when I rebooted the machine, lanscan shows lan0 and lan1. When rebooted the machine again, it shows lan1 and lan100 instead. So where does lan0 goes?

I do not see such streams/ux errors from the rest of the A400 machines on my platform.

Thanks for all your advices.

Re: Streams/UX errors from console

Yeow Peng,

Firstly fixed your network and tracing issue

1. cd /var/adm
2. nettl -stop
3. mv nettl.LOG000 nettl.LOG000.old
4. nettl -start

WK

Re: Streams/UX errors from console

yepow peng,

is the recovery tape made from your A400 machine? if it comes from another machine it may cause problem.have you checked your /etc/rc.log for some "fail" key words?
