sudo & ssh

Do these applications exist on the HP application CD if not where is the best place to get them. Also we had a new machine setup with a temporary hostname, we change the name to what we wanted it to be in production in the hosts file and netconf but SAM is still showing the temp. hostname where is it pulling it from???

Re: sudo & ssh

The host name can be coming from a few places, including /etc/net/t*/hosts. To get all occurrences, use:

set_parms hostname

Re: sudo & ssh

SSH can be downloaded from the hp software site for 11x no 10.20 :-(

Sudo you can get from the following link
http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/hpux/Sysadmin/sudo-1.6.6/

what files have you changed for the hostname?

the netconf will only be read at boot or if you called the /sbin/init.d script explicityly. the hosts file is only there as a reference for hostname lookups.

Re: sudo & ssh

There are a lot of places to properly set the hostname, so always use:

/etc/set_parms hostname

This will take care of all the correct locations. And of course, you DNS server (if used) will have to be updated.
