Superdome Implementations

Does anyone know how many Superdomes are in production use?
Particularly in the UK.

How many people have done the Superdome courses?

Re: Superdome Implementations

I used to teach the superdome course.

There's an extremely large installation especially the teleco providers and large data processing centers such as amazon.com as a spotlight example.

City center data centers seem to like them not for the HA or partitioning capability but for the space save.. you can get up to 8 K580's into a SD. Remote management is nicer too.. especially if you use SCM.

My favorite thing about the superdome is the upgradeability.

The rp8400 might be worth considering at a snap of the price of the competitor systems (per tpm too) if you are less oriented to large partitions... more between a full N and the SD32000.

Re: Superdome Implementations

just to add, one of the critical support centers for the superdome is in the UK.

In terms of training, personally I must have trained at least 40 people from the UK on sd management.

I wouldn't have stats on the numbers sold.. I think however that there is some information on the sales in the last quarterly report.. that you can get from investor information on the hp.com homepage. It was selling very well at last count as far as I've heard.

Re: Superdome Implementations

Thanks for the info.
I checked out the press release.

I would still like to know how many SDs are in the UK and actually in production.

Anyone know of any?

Re: Superdome Implementations

Michael,

Don't know if you're still interested, but thought you might like to see some recent news regarding some of the Superdome customers out there...

check this out:

Sorry, still don't have a breakdown of how many are UK-specific implementations.

Hope this helps...
take care-
