Re: superdome - kernel tuning

Shiv,
kernel tuning is strictly an operating system thing and Superdome is hardware that can have different operaing systems.
Similarly the tcpip tuning is for much of the part a function os the operating system than the hardware.

thanks

Re: superdome - kernel tuning

Hi Shiv,

Kernel tuning and tcpip tuning are part of OS rather then hardware so there will not be any differences in setting these parameters on domes and other HPUx servers. However all the considerations which needs to be followed based upon the config of the system while setting these parameters should be followed even while setting parameters on these like all other systems.

Re: superdome - kernel tuning

Hi Shiv

Kernel and tcpip tuning procedure is same on superdome computers as well since these are operating system parameters and independant of hardware

Re: superdome - kernel tuning

You can set your kernel stuff under sam gui/tui. Note many kernel changes require reboots. Also there is a whitepaper called the HP performance cookbook this will be helpful.

If you need very high lan performance. Also consider buying the nick teaming software. It will allow you to tie multiple gig ether cards together as one and failover between each other for redundancy.
