swinstall error ,

Hi,

I have software depot server ex."Node1" .When i try to install the ignite software from that depot I am, getting the below error .

Command I used is ,

Node2#swinstall -p -s Node1:/var/opt/sw/Ignite-UX-C.7.7.98/Ignite-UX-11-ALL_C.7.7.98.depot IGNITE -x mount_all_filesystems=false \*


"ERROR: The source you have chosen is a tape device which must be
local to the single selected target. Since the hostname of
the tape device "Node1" does not match the hostname of the
single selected target "Node1", this source is not allowed.
* Selection had errors.

Software is registered properly.
#swlist -l depot @Node1 | grep -i ignite
/var/opt/sw/Ignite-UX-C.7.7.98/Ignite-UX-11-ALL_C.7.7.98.depot

I have restarted swagentd .Still the same error .

Note : I am not using the Local tape drive or CD-ROM to install this Software .I am trying from depo server .

Can some help me to resolve this issue .

You need to specify the software depot path and the software you need to install (in this case Ignite). For e.g.:

swinstall -s NODE1:/softwaredepot/Ignite-UX \ packagetobeinstalled

You have registered tape depot file (downloaded from web) as a local depot and this is the error.

Try to copy all from Ignite-UX-11-ALL_C.7.7.98.depot to the new depot (directory) and register it.After that it can be useful via the network.

#swcopy -s /var/opt/sw/Ignite-UX-C.7.7.98/Ignite-UX-11-ALL_C.7.7.98.depot
\* @ /var/depot/ignite_depot
# swreg -l depot /var/depot/ignite_depot

Hi,

There was some problem with the downloaded file, I downloaded it again and extracted & re-regisered ,Now its working fine . Thx for your response.
