swinstall question

I have a question when I install file. In sam, when installing,it show:
could not access remotefile "usr/local/bin/gdb" in software item "gdb.gdb_RUN,r=5.2.1,a=HP_UX_B.11.00_700/800, v=:/usr/local" due to an internal error on the remote system.
how can I do?
Everyone must be kind each other.

Re: swinstall question

The installation has failed. There should be a log of the install at the following location the swagent.log file

/var/tmp/swagent.log
/var/adm/sw/swagent.log

There should be error information, indicating whether the problem is corruption or dependency issues.

Re: swinstall question

gdb is program language debugger provided from GNU. Its public shareware and, like all shareware, it goes into the /usr/local/bin directory. However, many admins migrated everything out of /usr/local/bin to /usr/local/sbin for reasons of security.

Often times these programs bypass swinstall.

Is there any reason for gdb on your system?

swremove if not.
