swinstall Warning Message ??

I am trying to install a Cumulative Online Diagnostic tools Patch on one of our servers and receive a warning message in the analysis phase:

/var/tmo/AAAa04062/catalog/PHSS_14405/pfiles/checkinstall[798]: /usr/bin/du: The parameter list is to long

How do I correct this ???

What was the swinstall command line.

Warnings are normal, if the install proceeds all will be okay.

If there is an error, it must be dealt with.

The checkinstall script for PHSS_14405 passed too many arguments to du. I think the kernel imposed limit on arg size is 1K.

I don't know what the check script for this patch is looking for, but have you looked to see if there is patch that supersedes 14405? It may be a known problem and have been fixed. Just a thought.

Any particular reason why you need this older patch? Released in May 98, also has a patch warning on it.

Go with RJ and the newer, better PHSS_17886.
