The default source "/var/spool/sw" does not exist or is not a valid source and there are no other registered depots on hp5. You can type in the depot path on this host or choose a different host.
/var/spool/sw does exist. It has swagent.log in it.
What else do I need to do to make it a valid source????

Re: swinstall
The error is just a default behaviour (not very well behaved though) - and you should not need to worry if you are just going to install from tape/cd or another depot.

Re: swinstall
It seems to default to look at that directory but it is not a software depot (as far as I know, could be wrong). Which is why it prompts you to put in the path to a depot.

Re: swinstall
swinstall has a default depot path of /var/spool/sw. If this depot doesn't exist (a depot is not the same thing as a directory) and if the server has no CD drive then swinstall outputs this message, you can ignore it.
I would expect to find the swagent... log files in /var/adm/sw however.

John
