swinstall
2. cd /var/adm/sw/products
3. mv /var/adm/sw/products/INDEX /tmp/INDEX # why we are moving in to /tmp/index file
4. vi void.psf
5. Add the following lines to void.psf # what is void.psf while i am creating i am seeing
it is a new file ?
# why we are putting the following entries in void.psf?
product
tagvoid
fileset
tagvoid
6. swpackage -s ./void.psf # what is the meaning of it
7. swinstall void # for what reason we are installing void and then remove
8. swremove void; rm void.psf; swremove -d void

when i am trying to install one of the downaloded file i couldn't install, after that i did /usr/sbin/swagentd -r thne tried agian
it was not working
then one guy suggested me do like these way

You should NOT be fiddling with the IPD!
You should work in some other directory.

I downloaded one file with gcc.....gz
i removed extension
swintall -s /usr/local/gcc
it is installed one sever if ia mtrying in second it is not installing thats why
i did swagentd -r for restarting deamon
again i tried to install it was not working
then i asked one guy he
told me do the following steps
what i mentioned in above thread, any how
I need explanantion of that steps when we have to follow up such steps what is the logic behind it. for my information i need step by step explanation what i mentioned in my previous thread.
I know u peoples can explain very well

Where did you get the gcc depot?
If you try to install "...it is not installing..." - any messages???
