#swlist -l product what KernDevKit HP-UX Kernel Developer Kit?
Dear HP-UX gurus:
Can I ask you a question?
I issued the following command as superuser
#swlist -l product
I got one entry as
.....
KernDevKit B.11.00 HP-UX Kernel Developer Kit
.....
What is it? How can I use it?
Thanks
John

Re: #swlist -l product what KernDevKit HP-UX Kernel Developer Kit?
Well, for starters, the command:
swlist -l file KernDevKit
will list all the files in this "kit". It is only a few include files. I am not sure what the intent of this kit is. But you can write c programs that use nlist(3) to obtain addresses from /stand/vmunix and then you can open(2) /dev/kmem and read stuff. I suppose that there are a few more bits of info that you can grab with this kit.
I hope that someone in the know posts a more definitive answer on the purpose of this kit. I have wondered about it for years.
