Hi folks,
In order to customize +/-100 HP-UX workstations and +/- 10 HP-UX servers,I intend to set up a SD-UX depot structure with SD-UX (swpackage). This will simplify the customization of a system to a simple "swinstall" and a later verify on the customization to a simple "swverify".
Most of the stuff is extra symbolic links, and the classic /etc - files.
Any tips and tricks ?
Edwin

Hi,
Creating a depot from a psf file is not too difficult. There are quite a number of parameters that you need to get familiar with in order to take full advantage of the swpackage commands.
man swpackage - how to use swpackage
man 5 swpackage - psf file format (important)
Once you understand how to create psf file after going through the second man page, it is a matter of running swpackage on the psf file.
Look at the section 'creating swpackage' in the following manual
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90154/B2355-90154.html

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try

Re: swpackage
It's more of how you to configure your psf file than anything. Take a look at this doc for more details.
