Sybase Data Replication issues
We have setup of HP-UX 11i(RP8400 servers) with SYBASE (12.0)support.
Past few days we are facing a problem with
the data replication on our DR site(N-class).
the error looks like this:
CT-LIBRARY error:
ct_connect(): network packet layer: internal net library error: Net-Lib protocol driver call to connect two endp
oints failed
although sybase server & its replication server require not more than 300 MB space..still we found that replication threads were getting killed saying"insufficient space" whereas Total RAM available is 1GB
If my O.S takes 45-50 % space i.e around 512MB,with 512MB in hand,why the threads were
getting killed?
Is this a problem of O.S or Sybase?
We have found a temporary solution ,but we are
going to incrase the RAM(1 GB) to 1.5GB(+512MB)
It is going to take time.
How can i assure that this problem doesn't persist till my memory increases?
thanx

Re: Sybase Data Replication issues
Hi
This looks like buffer caching

Re: Sybase Data Replication issues
hi,
i think you have to increase the parameter max_thread_proc in the kernel.see the current value in kernel.you can use glance to find how much threads are used for the sybase processes(use glance in graphics mode/with software like reflection ).
i will suggest value of 1024 for this parameter.(you can increase the value of nkthread also for this .use sybase manual/internet for finding the proper value for this parameter.)
regds,
