Sync trusted system logins across multiple servers

I have several servers that act as front-end servers for a database. These are all trusted systems. The users are going to be load balanced across the servers. I need to find a way to sync the logins across the servers.

Re: Sync trusted system logins across multiple servers

Craig,

Unless I am misunderstanding what you want to do, you want to go with NIS+ and trusted systems.

Remember nis does not work in conjuction with trusted systems.

Re: Sync trusted system logins across multiple servers

Shalom,

LDAP will work, though you may need to go untrusted first and go to shadow passwords.

Red Hat has a port of directry server from netscape that supposedly works with HP-UX. The jury is out on that one in Jerusalem.

NIS the simplest option will not work at all in this context.

I've been working on integrating HP-UX and Linux systems into ADS domains and this works very seamlessly for Samba and somewhat less seamlessly for login.
