Syslog

Hi,

The following message is appearing number of times on the syslog. Is it very critical and what could be the cause?

do_accept : too many open files

Thanks

Re: Syslog

John,

You will have to increase maxfile kernel parameter.

Re: Syslog

hi,

refer to this:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=187094

you have to change kernel parameter, nfile and check your soft and hard limit by using ulimit command.

regards.

Re: Syslog

You can monitoring the nfile with sar -v 1

Exemple:

HP-UX sbd3 B.11.11 U 9000/800 03/03/04

14:30:09 text-sz ov proc-sz ov inod-sz ov file-sz ov
14:30:10 N/A N/A 466/2300 0 3096/4000 0 10484/32778 0

Here, i have 10484 files open for a maximum of 32778
