System crash

Hi all,

We have a problem with a rp5470 server, yesterday it crashed 2 times because of a panic "Reboot after panic: , isr.ior = 0'340004.0'7c1ef58".

I can see nothing in syslog.log but q4 show "Processor 0 started it by HPMC'ing". In GSP logs we see no critical errors with memory too but I want to know where can i get crashinfo or one analizer like tombstone to investigate more this issue...

Thanks!

Re: System crash

Javier,

Crashdumps are very specific as well as ts99, if you already run q4 on the system, open a case with HP and send them the results for further analysis.

Jaime.

Re: System crash

Hello,

Does your system has rebboted himself ?
if no, if you want restart your server, type 'TC' (Transfert of Control) in the GSP for generate a crash file that will be analysed by the HP support.

Re: System crash

Hi,

The server rebooted itseft and generated the crash on /var/adm/crash. This server has not support...so i would like to check the problem with my own tools.

Thanks,

Javier

Re: System crash

Shalom Javier,

HPMC

High Priority Machine Check.

When things like processors die while the system is running.

Seems at reboot your processor is back, so the cycle repeats itself.

You need service to fix this machine. You have bad CPU and it needs to be replaced. Since you have no support you'll have to arrange to pay as you go or the server will not be reliable.

Re: System crash

Hi Javier,

check /var/adm/crash for crashdumps (if you would need to toc the system via console later as was already said here), and also check for /var/tombstones/ts99 file. You will see hpmc too in there. This file will need to be send to hp support.

Re: System crash

Thanks foy your answers!

I'm going to download the chashinfo scripts given by mobidyc to check it. This is a HPUX 11.11 64bits system.

And i will inform to my manager about this situation and then he'll decide, if we open a incident with HP Support or not...

Javier
