Tape DDS Device Missing

Wonder if someone can help me with my next step trying to Activate a *new* cabled up DAT device ?

The ioscan shows: C1537A
but UNKNOWN.

I tryed the: insf -e -C tape

I tryed rebooting the server, rp2470.

I even tryed checking h/w pings..

pls help..

You need to add the stape driver into your kernel.

Hi,

I agree w/Pete - you need stape driver in the kernel.

And BTW - did you notice you also seem to have a problem with your DVD drive?
It's coming up NO_HW

driver "stape" is being loaded now, and system is rebooting...

Since it looks other devices on that SCSI chain are missing (DVD), I'm suspicious that the tape drive wasn't attached correctly.

Check that the SCSI chain is terminated correctly. Make sure that the DVD and Tape Device are the same type of SCSI (SE,LVD,DIFF). Make sure that the SCSI IDs are all set correctly. If all else fails, remove the DVD and see if tape drive comes up.
