Getting this error message when booting one of our HP-UX servers (it's functioning as a web server)

Can't register TCP

Version is HP-UX 9.07

Re: TCP error when booting

This version of the OS is not Y2K compliant and is no longer supported. There have been a variety of HP initiatives to provide 10.20 upgrade media at no cost (with or without a support contract). There are a variety of us that worked 9.x way back when, but much of the specific knowledge that applies to that OS is being forgotten as time goes by (for me at least).

Hi

Check the file /etc/protocols for tcp entry:
tcp 6 TCP
