TFTP Error during booting

Hi,
I try to boot my PARISC from a DHCP/TFTP Server based on a Linux System.
I took the boot_lif from a Ignite Server and put it on my linux.

When i try to boot my HP-UX client with :
boot lan.xx.xx.xx.xx

I obtain the selection menu which ask me to choose my system to install then the boot hangs at this stage :
"Boot:lan(0/0/0/0;0)/boot/Rel_B.11.11/WINSTALL"

I've analysed the network packets from my HP-UX client and i've noticed that there is an error trying to get the boot_lif:
"Error Code, Code: Not Defined, Message:"

Indeed, the client try to get the boot_lif several times, but doesn't succeed.

It is a bit stange, because it succeeds in getting the selection menu.

I've also try to get the boot_lif by tftp from another HP-UX with the OS installed successfully.

Could anyone help me, pleaz?

Thx in advance

Re: TFTP Error during booting

Shalom,

A common problem is that you are trying to boot off an add in lan card. Ignite did not support that at least up to v 5.x. Maybe its not a problem in Ignite 6.

Gotta love these useful error messages.

Though its okay to use a Linux filesystem for storage, mounted by NFS, I don't think you can involve a Linux tftp server in the Ignite boot process. If thats what you are trying to do, stop, it won't work.
