i need to know if their is any command to check the system like in tru64 we use sys_check
and also i want to know that is their any command called trimlog or trim in hp-ux .i dont find these
command in my hp w/s.but i heard it from somewhere that it exists.
i also would like to know if i can install samba on hpux 11i.
pls revert back

About trimlog, you can trim system logs in SAM (Routine Tasks->System Logs->...)
About sys_check, I don't know any command but there is sar (to check activity).

Trim a log file on SAM (run SAM as root) and, after that, view SAM Log to see what command(s) is(are) executed. SAM is basically an user interface...

Solution1.) sys_check I believe it is used to find the system config info. IN hp-ux u can use the following to find the system info.
/opt/ignite/bin/print_manifest
A print_manifest output is attached with. Pls see.
2.)There is no command "trimlog" in hp-ux.
3.) You can install samba on hpux 11i. Find it at http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/searchProducts.do
