Trusted System default user settings

Hi,

I have a question regarding default security configuration file in a trusted system.

I understood that both Standard and Trusted systems uses /etc/default/security. However, in a trusted system, there is another file /tcb/file/auth/system/default which seem to be serving the same purpose.

So in a trusted system, which default security file will it use?

Re: Trusted System default user settings

It depends on the setting.

Settings from both files can be used.

Re: Trusted System default user settings

Hi,

If both files exist and I have different values for the same parameter (e.g. minimum password lenght) on each file. Which will take preside ?

Re: Trusted System default user settings

Hi,
On a trusted systems it use the /tcb/file/auth/system/default for lenght etc.
But according this doc http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90950/ch08s10.html like Patrick write the /etc/default/security could be use for example in trusted mode for password history.
