TS99 should be empty ?
Hi all.
I have got an A class ( A500-5x ) RP2450 with two processors running hpux 11i.
Yesterday, the machine went down for a panic reboot.
The HP technician told me that the reason of panic was a processor 0 problem.
They has changed the processor, and now the machine is up again without problem.
So I see the /var/tombstones directory and ts97 have 7kb large, ts98 and ts99 has 16k ( ts98 is before processor change and ts99 is after procesor change ). Is it this normal ?

Re: TS99 should be empty ?
This is not abnormal.
Do you have savecrash configured?
/etc/rc.confid.d/savecrash
First variable should equal 1.
That will get you crash dumps in such situations, which you can analyze. We once picked up a missing patch in one of those.

Re: TS99 should be empty ?
Hi,
nothing to worry, ts99 is always the latest file and always the one taht HP will be asking you to send them in case of HW trouble.
It will never be empty, i.e. 0 Byte.
Regards
Bernhard

Re: TS99 should be empty ?
Hi,
one more info:
this files are written while booting up (look at the time stamps).
There are infos you also can get from the service menu (PIM) and from the information menu (revisions for ex.) when interrupting boot process.
Regards
Volkmar
