We are using HP-UX 11.11 and the default shell is /usr/bin/ksh. The default mask is 644 or in umask terms 022. I want to change that value for a few select users to 664 (02). I put "umask=02" in their .profile(s) but it doesn't seem to take. What am I doing wrong?

Re: umask for only a few select users
The umask in the .profile should be:
002.
When you login as the user and type "umask", what is the outcome.

Re: umask for only a few select users
Put the umaskin the .profile of the desired users accordingly. If the umask has to be same for all users than put it just in /etc/profile.
