unable to remove printer

hi,

i'm trying to delete a printer using the following command :

lpadmin -x

but i get the error :

lpadmin: corrupted member file

can anyone advise how i can resolve this?

had a similar problem, alas with adding.
If the file itself is corrupted, a restore from backup should resolve the problem.

Hi Rancid,

start Sam, ==> Printers and Plotters ==> lp spooler ==> Save/Restore Spooler Configuration

backup your configuration and restore it again.

Sam will resolve a lot of problems.

thanks for the reply...

i've checked the thread and it doesn't resolve the problem... also not able to do a restore as the printer config wasn't even backed-up yet...

Begin by getting a backup of the config via SAM as described aboved.

Shutdown the lpssched and see if you can manually remove the printer from the /etc/lp area.
