Hi I am unable to Create a 16 node cluster with CVM. Is there any limitaion for CVM to start with more than 8 nodes.
I am able to make cluster of 8 nodes but not more than 8 nodes it gives me a error and comes out of the cluster.
It says that failed to configure CVM.

NOTE: With 8 or less than 8 nodes I can make a cluster with CVM but more than 8 nodes its not able to start CVM.

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

Hi,
For me here the most explicite is
"Another configuration transaction is currently in progress."
Check to see if any ServiceGuard commands are not completing in this node and in other nodes too.
Check if cmclconfd is running.
Hope it helps

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

I have already checked that but nothing is running.

I rebooted all the nodes also. But still I get this error when I try to create more than 8 node cluster.

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

You don't mention the version of SG, SGeRAC or Cluster Filesystem...

So not easy to say - some older versions supported only 8 nodes.

Take a look at the matrix here:

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

My SG version is A.11.19.00.
And I believe it supports 16 node as per doc. I will chech the CVM version now.

Any way ... the doc is a good guide for me.

Thanks for your help.

I will keep trying and let see what else I can do ?

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

Hello,

There is a problem case QXCR1000785549 at
HP.

It deals with the same kind of error that you
reported but applies to ServiceGuard 11.19
and HP-UX 11.31. Maybe it is related to
your issue.

Alas, I am unable to open the ticket at the
moment (I am a Senior Instructor in HP
Education and just got back from teaching
ServiceGuard I course in Western Australia).

Pity as it might help us.

If you have a case open with HP teams, maybe
they can read this document for you? I will
try to access it as well.

Cheers,

Re: unable to start 16 node cluster

Hi All,
I was able to create 16 node cluster with the same setup.
I didn't do anything extra, just tried the same command to create cluster and after few attempts I was able to create the 16 node cluster with CVM.

Thanks for all your support.
