Unix/Linux Client for Data Protector/Omniback
I have another question ;).
Is there any possibility for Omniback A5.00 to access the client gui from a linux/unix workstation?
I have only a GUI for Windows :(.
Thanks again for the nice support and for the time you take to solve my problems.

Re: Unix/Linux Client for Data Protector/Omniback
Hi,
there are several ways:
1. use vnc to connect to the machine with gui. Now you can use the omniback gui, since vnc fits on a floppy and can be used from any platform.
2. On the unix CD there is a unix gui (not linux). You can install it from the CD.
The gui for unix looks the same as the one for Window$. The unix version has some issues, which the window$ one does not. So its OK to stay with the Window$ version.
