Re: upgrade HP-jetadmin
I am assuming that you have the depot you want to install? Then you type 'swinstall' then point the install to the location of the depot, and install. swinstall should take care of the rest.

Re: upgrade HP-jetadmin
Malosse,
Below are instructions for the installation. You will also want to have the latest SAM;Obam patch installed on the system as well.
Log into the system as root.
Copy the software file HP11e118.SD to the /tmp directory.
NOTE: All file names and commands are case sensitive.
Type ps -ef | grep hpnpd. If hpnpd is running, find the process ID, then type "kill".
If you need to re-install an existing HP Jetdirect Printer Installer for UNIX, enter "/usr/sbin/swremove HPNPL" at the console. This will remove the previous instance of the HP Jetdirect Printer Installer Utility.
Type /usr/sbin/swinstall.
In the Specify Source window, set the Source Depot Path to the /tmp/file_name.
Set the Software View to be "Products" then click OK.
In the Software Selection Window, highlight the "HPNPL -> E.10.18 HP Jetdirect Printer Installer" line and click the right mouse button to mark this item for installation.
Under the Actions menu, in the Software Selection Window choose the Install (analysis) ...".
After the analysis has completed successfully, click OK to start the installation.
After the installation is complete, check the log file, which pops up in the Install Window, for errors and exit swinstall by clicking File then Exit. The last entry in the log file should read The Execution Phase Completed.
Verify that the software was installed properly:
Run HP Jetdirect Printer Installer for UNIX by typing /opt/hpnpl/bin/hppi at the command line.
Select Diagnostics (option 3) on the HP Jetdirect Printer Installer for UNIX main menu.
Select Option 1 and make sure the correct version is displayed.
Best Regards,
Eric
