i have hp 9000 D class server (model :- 9000/813/D330) with HP UX 10.20. Can i upgrade/install the OS to 11.0 .

Yes. You can install 11.0/32bit. Were running it on ours aok.

Install is recommended than upgrade.

You can intall 11.0 on D330 model machines, but the OS will be of 32 bits rather than 64 bits, Since D-class models support only 32 bit OS.

Something to think about.
My company is on a project to organize an update for 100+ machine updates from HP-UX 10.20 to HP-UX 11.00. The system administrators want to re-install with Ingite/UX (Depot based), because:
1) The layout(size) for lvol1 till lvol8 etc. is seriously different in the 2 releases. HP-UX 11.00 just wants more of everything.
2) The new install procedure can already serve as a crash recovery scenario in case of trouble.
3) No "old" stuff from 10.20 upgrade will still be hanging around, making your configuration somewhat more "out of the box" than after such a migration.(nice for support).

Note D380 machines can run 32 bit or 64 bit installation.

I recommend taking your D330 off line and doing a cold install. Field results show that cold install is more reliable than upgrade.

I believe your box is also capable of runnning 11.11(11i) as well.
