Upgrade Question .
Hi All,
i am received recently the HP-UX11iv2-Ent, suport pack and the application media to upgrade my system from 11.11 to 11.23 version.
my question is:
1)what is the benefit of support pack CD in an insulation process, and when i can use it.
2)the upgrade requirement is update the update-ux command, from which cd i can update it.
thanks and best regards

Re: Upgrade Question .
Shalom,
1) Support pack is the after install upgrades to the OS, apps and patches.
2) The upgrade-ux command is run on the core OS DVD.
Advice: DONT DO THE UPGRADE!!!!
update-ux is unreliable, unsupported by applications vendors and should be avoided.
Better to back every bit of data up and do a cold OS install, then the apps, then data conversion if needed.
If supported, consider going to 11.31 because it has a longer end of life date. 11.23 and 11.11 share the same end of life date.
