upgrading os
do i need to up the omniback 4.1 if the system is to be upgraded from 11 to 11i?

Omniback 4 is optional in any upgrade and obsolete as well.
You may upgrade your OS whether you have it installed or not.
I would suggest a make_tape_recovery tape before starting the upgrade.
The more complex your software setup the more likely the upgrade is to fail.
Most vetrans go for cold install.

Hi,
It's optional. We prefer cold install rather than upgrade
never give up
