Using Automounter
Dear Gurus,
I would like to use Automounter to mount Windows 2003 to my HP-UX. My inquires are as follows:
1. What is the difference between CIFS and automounter?
2. Are there security issues in using CIFS or automounter?
Thanks!

Re: Using Automounter
Hello,
Automount is used to mount NFS file systems and install automatic mount points (autofs). CIFS is used for Unix to Windows file sharing.

Re: Using Automounter
CIFS used to share file system between hetro-genous operating system windows and *nix.
Automounter is used to mount a file system from *NIX machine during boottime by default.
May be present available NFS system is needing more security. It will be coming on NFSv4.
PS: wait for Dave olkar to give his knowledge.

Easy to suggest when don't know about the problem!
