Hello,
Today i create an ignite with make_recovery on hp-ux 11.00. I got the following note:
File '/usr/old' in list of essential files not found, or too big for pax to handle. Skipping.
I had a look at my system and find out that the whole directory /usr/old is missing can this be critical? Shall i create a directory /usr/old ?
Thanks in advance
Uli

Re: /usr/old missing
Hi Uli,
It's not critical unless you have an account that needs the old Bourne shell which is located in /usr/old/bin.
/usr/old just contains all the older legacy commands which are rarely needed unless you have ancient SW that needs any of them.
If you're at all concerned you could bring it back from a recovery tape if was ever there, but I'd wait to see if there is indeed anything missing from there that you need.
My 2 cents,
Jeff
