uuencode to mail attachments ?
# uname -a ; model
HP-UX B.11.23 U ia64 1728164516 unlimited-user license
ia64 hp superdome server SD32B
########################################
Hello All,
I received a message from user indicating they can no longer
utilize "uuencode" to send message from unix server, and receive it as an attachment on windows mail. Command used :
$uuencode /tmp/cron_e2e cron_e2e.doc |mailx@scif.com
#########################################
I tested the uuencode program, and it works fine, it does exactly what it's suppose to do. I enformed the user I would consult with HP, but I think there has been a security change with the companies mail services. let me know your thoughts.

Re: uuencode to mail attachments ?
Shalom,
It could be a patching problem, it could be the smtp server that may relay your mail.
Here is a certified script to try:
http://www.hpux.ws/mailfile2
If it fails to transmit an attachment, you have a problem. If it does, you have a methodology issue.
Don't forget to change the email addresses.
