Hello,

You can find some software at the following location .:

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/cgi-bin/search?package=on&description=on&term=proxy

under the networking/WWW category.

Hope this helps,

Re: UX as proxy server

Shalom,

Just a little advice. Linux and squid may be a better tool for this. A proxy server Linux install could be a throwaway desktop and still handle the load.

Re: UX as proxy server

Hi Prakash
We used an HP-UX several years serving as proxy. It was running Apache to perform this task.

There is a lot of good coding examples at http://www.apache.org/ to see how this is configured.

Pay attention to potential security risks while configuring the server (search for: Building a Bastion host HP-UX) as well as hardening the services you have to leave open (like http/https).

Re: UX as proxy server

I would suggest squid. It is easy to configure. You could then try and compile the source for DansGuardian to do web filtering.

"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"
