Re: vg lock cluster

Hi,

I think is not possible for SG create cluster on to much different servers. I think that SG can build cluster on 2 servers from one class.

Re: vg lock cluster

Serviceguard can virtually function on any two servers running the same (??) OS revision. One thing comes to mind, your K-class machine may be on 11.0 whereas rp4440 can at least be at 11.11 version.

Other than this, as I am not sure how you are connected from K-class machine to the surestore array, but you may have to check with HP to verify that you have the latest and greatest firmware on your scsi controllers or fibre-channel adapters, whichever is your method of connectivity.

Re: vg lock cluster

You need to have the latest firmware on the 12h
and also make sure you have the latest patch buncle PLUS the latest Serviceguard patch for your SG version.

Re: vg lock cluster

Serviceguard supports different classes of servers as long as they support the same version of O/S and Serviceguard. Only few versions of Serviceguard are a cluster of nodes running both 11.00 and 11i HPUX.

The 12h was a supported array back in the day when it was current product. As Melvyn stated - check firmware revs.

In this case, historical information points to an LVM timeout. It's possible to increase cmclconfd logging on the other node to see just what that system is doing when the trouble is encountered. I suggest you open a case with HP Support to learn how to increase logging.

Re: vg lock cluster

If you check the firmware, you should see HP62.

Hope this helps!
