vgmodify
<< If vgmodify is interrupted while it is committing the configuration
changes onto the disks, it may be necessary to re-apply the
configuration to all the physical volumes. The
/etc/lvmconf/VG_restore script must used to accomplish this. To
apply the new configuration, enter the following:
/etc/lvmconf/VG_restore /etc/lvmconf/VG.conf
Or to apply the old/original configuration, enter the following:
/etc/lvmconf/VG_restore /etc/lvmconf/VG.conf.old >>
My server is B.11.23.. i did not find /etc/lvmconf/VG_restore in my server..
How to create it..

Re: vgmodify
Substitute the basename of the volume group for which you were running the 'vgmodify' for the 'VG' string. If the volume group was "vg02", use that in place of "VG".

Re: vgmodify
Not sure if it is left behind either. It probably gets deleted before vgmodify exits.
