virtaul machine and multipathing

Hello all,

I have san disks attached to my vm host . And those disks were presented to my vm's . So the vm's are booting of the sam disks.
So for failover ..i need to install the multipathing on the vm host for the san disks.
Once the multipathing is installed on VM host ..do i need to do anything on the vm's inorder to update the mutipathing info
Thanks in advance

Re: virtaul machine and multipathing

No you will be good to go.

The multipath and failover always occurs at the VM Host, in fact if you try to allocate the alternate path to the VM Guest the command will fail.

Re: virtaul machine and multipathing

Hi,

You don't have to do anything. The guest OS under the VM won't know a thing about multipathing. Your host will be the one handling the multipathing.
