vmstat cpu stats never change.
vmstat seems to work for memory usage but for us,sy and id it always 100 0 100. Is something getting screwed up because of multiple processors?

Its not due to multiple processors.
Try swapinfo -tam
Wait 15 minutes
Run some more processes
Try again
Hopefully it will change. You might want to check the itrc patch database for patches for vmstat.
