Hi we would like to build a Cluster with two BL890C -i2 ( total each 32Cores )
we like to create for example on each Blade:
hpvmstatus
[Virtual Machines]
Virtual Machine Name VM # Type OS Type State #VCPUs #Devs #Nets Memory
==================== ===== ==== ======= ========= ====== ===== ===== =======
ahv018 1 VP HPUX On (OS) 8 16 3 32768 MB
ahv020 2 VP HPUX On (OS) 12 11 3 192 GB
ahv017 3 VP HPUX On (RMT) 8 32 3 32768 MB
ahv026 4 VP HPUX Off 1 0 3 70 GB
ahv028 5 VP HPUX Off 1 0 3 5 GB
ahv030 6 VP HPUX Off 1 0 3 69 GB
ahv017 (RMT) is a Vpar running on Other Bla890C i2 controlled via ServiceGuard
It looks like standby Servers ( RMT ) already have their Core Count , and so we cannot create more Vpars than number of cores even if these Vpar are not active.
Other Vpars will go down first before ahv017 will be active by ServiceGuard to this blade , so the number of active Cores is always below 28.
Nevertheless we can in above example create ahv026 ahv028 or ahv030 with more than 1 Core ( wile ACtive Cores is 23)
Do anyone got an Idea what we do wrong ( in our thinking ) ??
kind regards

SolutionSounds like you have reserved resources set to true, which is usually the default for vPars. Reserved resources means the VSP will consider any resources assigned to the vPars as being in use even if the vPar is down. You can change this with the hpvmmodify command and is discussed in section 6.7 of the v6.1 Admin Guide.
