Vpar help

I have stolen resourses from a vpar and want to keep that configuration. I have renamed the configuration to reflect a 7/1 cpu and 12/4g memory split. My problem is that I used the configuration of 4/4 split to steal resources and recreate the 7/1 split. I continue to rename the 4/4 cpu split and place recreate the vpdb and copy that file there however, when the system updates it updates the 4/4 cpu split file. how can I get it to recognize the new file 7/1 renamed from 4/4???

Re: Vpar help

hmm, this is a little confusing, but one thing to bear in mind is that if you replace the /stand/vpdb on ONE Vpar, it may get "synchronised" by the other Vpar if that Vpar is up and running. The Vparmonitor will always try to keep ALL Vpars in sync.

Re: Vpar help

is it possible to rename the vpdb on both nodes then move the renamed file into place, then cp the new config file inside of the vpdb on both nodes at the same time?

Re: Vpar help

I'm not sure about your problem.
(I don't understand the question probably)

If you do any modification, the resulting config is valid, even after a reboot or something.

So the current config is stored in all the DB files on the various disks.

Hope this helps!

Re: Vpar help

I have 3 vpar boot configurations, the primary config is vpar1 7cpu 12gig mem and vpar2 1 cpu and 4 gig memory. the second config is 4cpu and 8 gig both vpars. the third config is vpar1 1cpu and 4 gig mem and vpar2 7 cpu and 12 gig mem. the first configuration got destroyed without a backup. I booted from 4/4 cpu config and stole resources from that config to rebuild the 7/1 configuration. My problem is that it is up as a 7/1 configuration but the file that it uses as the boot file is named 4/4. I want to rename it to 7/1 and place that in the vpdb. I want to move another 4/4 config file into place but when I do, the vpmon resyncs contents within and makes my file 7/1....Please advise.
