Re: vxfsd
# glance -p
shows "vxfsd" typically in the 20s for disk IO and 0.5->1.0 on CPU utilization. But yours is higher obviously, what's the number ? Is the machine fully patched (especially with the latest JFS cumulative patch) ?

Re: vxfsd
Just wondering if anyone elses vxfsd is growing this rapidly. Other hpux boxes are fine. with same patch levels so I think it is releated to rp7400's.
Thanks again,
charlie

# glance -W
and enter the PID at the bottom of the screen, post the output. Does the "wait reason" shows "IO" all the time ?

Re: vxfsd
It sure sounds like it might be patch related.
I'd run
swlist -l patch -a state > /tmp/patch.out
and look for patches in an inconsistent state - i.e. installed but NOT configured. As well as verifying patch levels between systems w/o symptoms & this one.
There have been patches issued for poor performance (PHKL_24027) & hang conditions (PHKL_21499) that have been out for a while.
Rgds,
Jeff
